The Monastery of Kremaston was founded in 1593 and is located 2.5 km away from Neapoli. From the mid-19th to the early 20th century, a rigorous interdisciplinary school was operated in the monastery. Originally, this monastery was habited by monks, but in 1993 it was converted into a nunnery.
